A warm welcome: PGA induction days inspire Year 1 Trainees

PGA Member Campbell Elliot has been appointed General Manager at the IMG managed Erbil Hills Golf Club.

Born in Scotland, Elliot recently moved to the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and joins Erbil Hills Golf Club from Lakowe Lakes Golf & Country Club in Nigeria, where he previously worked with IMG.

Elliot will oversee all aspects of the club’s ongoing development and will work alongside the board and IMG to establish the country’s first championship golf course.

"I would like to thank the board and IMG for the opportunity to join such a fantastic project," said Elliot. "It’s an honour to be given the opportunity to lead the golf team here and we are committed to ensure that the quality of the golf facilities and guest experience is of the very highest standard."

Designed by Dye Designs, the development will also feature 300 exclusive residences that surround the golf course and which will offer a new style of green, luxury living in the region. Erbil Hills is destined to become one of the region's most exciting new golf destinations with the capacity and ambition to host international tournaments and special events as well as acting as an important platform from which to successfully grow and develop the game in the country.

Russell Hannah, Vice President, IMG Golf Course Services commented: "We are extremely pleased to be working with Campbell again and welcome him to the team at Erbil Hills. Campbell brings a wealth of high-quality, international club management experience and we are confident he will add huge value to the entire development as we seek to establish this important new golfing destination."
