The European PGA Alliance (EPGAA) hosted the third edition of its annual congress at Antalya Golf Club, coinciding with the EPGAA Team Championship, contested over two days on the renowned PGA Sultan Course.
The PGA of GB&I claimed victory, narrowly edging out the PGA of Sweden in a play-off after both teams finished 8-under par. It was two pars on the first play-off hole that secured the trophy for GB&I.
The tournament features three representatives from each Association, with the best two scores counting per round. Proudly representing GB&I were Ashley Mansell, the 2025 English PGA Champion, Sian Evans, the 2025 Women’s PGA Professional Champion and Graeme Robertson, the 2024 Scottish PGA Champion and PGA Tour debutant earlier in 2025.
A total of eight PGAs competed, including GB&I, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Germany, Turkey, Austria and France.
Building on a highly successful second congress in November 2024, the EPGAA unites 13 PGAs from across Europe, representing more than 13,000 PGA Members. The alliance provides a platform for each PGA to share best practice, explore challenges and collaborate to drive the growth of golf across the continent.
Commenting on the success of the congress, Dr Jonathan Wright, External Relations Executive at The PGA said: “The European PGA Alliance Congress gives us the opportunity to come together with our fellow PGAs to collaborate for the good of the game of golf.
“As PGAs, we often face the same challenges and so building a network of trusted colleagues is very beneficial for everyone. It also means that through the Alliance, we can act with one voice and in so doing, get the perspective and viewpoint of the PGA Member – the workforce of the game – heard and understood. “
The congress came at an appropriate time, as Antalya Golf Club and The PGA renew their branded property agreement that cements Antalya Golf Club as a PGA National Turkey for a further ten years, strengthening the ties between The PGA and one of Europe’s leading golf destinations.
