A warm welcome: PGA induction days inspire Year 1 Trainees

PGA Members have one week left to submit their PGA Excel applications ahead of the next application submission date on 23rd March, 2023.

Replacing the old APAL system, PGA Excel is a new-look, online assessment framework that enables PGA Members to demonstrate your impact and achievement to employers, golfers and the wider industry.

The system provides a much-improved pathway to progression for Members through the Association’s membership framework. Different membership designations are awarded (Advanced, Fellow, Advanced Fellow and Master), enabling you to use these bands and the accompanying logos to market, promote and differentiate yourself from other Members.

For employers and the wider golf industry, the membership bands achieved are a vital way to identify and recruit individuals to specific roles, as well as being a stamp of approval and expertise.

Hundreds of PGA Members have already engaged with PGA Excel since its launch last November, with more than 40 Members being recognised earlier this month when the first batch of awardees for its new PGA Excel assessment framework.

Four step guide to getting started with PGA Excel...

  1. Gain accredited status by submitting a CPD journal via PGA Learn for the current CPD year (1st November 2022 – 31st October 2023).
  2. Download the PGA Excel brochure from the members area of pga.info to find out all you need to know.
  3. Check out the new eligibility criteria to see if you meet the criteria to ascertain the appropriate level for an application.
  4. Complete the self-assessment form to get an understanding of the scoring and information needed, then begin your application.

It is important to remember that you are only able to submit ONE PGA Excel application a year. Make sure your application is completed in good time, detailing all of your achievements and thoroughly evidencing your impact and expertise.

Visit the members’ area of pga.info to download a brochure which outlines all you need to know about PGA Excel. Please note, the deadline for the next round of submissions is March 23, 2023.
