A warm welcome: PGA induction days inspire Year 1 Trainees

The PGA Sandwich Links Championship Pro-Am returns for 2022, with some of the Southern region's finest golf courses hosting the mammoth event.

Running from the 10th – 12th October, the 54-hole tournament, which is open to all PGA Members, sees Chart Hills stage the opener, before an hour’s drive east to two of the UK’s most recognised links courses and Open Championship venues, Royal St. George’s and Prince’s.

Having hosted The Open Championship in 2021, Royal St George’s will hold the second day of action, before the tournament concludes at the Open final qualifying venue of Prince’s, with the Himalayas and Shore the selected nines.

This year, the event will be supported by Titleist, Loch Lomond Whiskies and Shepheard Neame, with The PGA in England (South)’s Regional Manager, Sam Smith, saying: “I’m delighted to have some of the most recognised brands in their fields supporting this event, which is open to all PGA Professionals. It’s a great few days’ golf over three of the country’s best golf courses and we can’t wait to get this tournament underway.”

Beginning on Monday 10th October, there will be a Full English Breakfast provided on arrival at Chart Hills, with a midday shotgun start. The following day will be at Royal St George’s, with a morning two-tee start and then the final round, on Wednesday, at Prince’s, with another morning two-tee start followed by the prize giving.

For those looking for accommodation in the area, there is a special 2-night package available at The Lodge at Prince’s which is highly recommended and can be booked directly with the PGA South Region Office on [email protected], along with all team entries.

You may be wondering how much it costs to enter this fantastic tournament?  Well, team entries this year are £1950 per team.
