The Ramsdens Currency Scottish PGA Championship will return to West Kilbride in 2026 as the Arnold Clark Tartan Tour’s flagship event highlights another impressive calendar of competition for the domestic campaigners.
Won by Paul O’Hara in a thrilling finale at Scotscraig in 2025, the national championship will head back to the west coast next season with the wonderful Ayrshire links playing host for the third time in the event’s 119-year history.
Alastair Forsyth was the winner the last time the Ramsdens Currency Scottish PGA Championship was held at West Kilbride in 2022, while the redoubtable Eric Brown won the fourth of his eight national titles when the event first visited this great golfing heartland back in 1960.
"Everyone at West Kilbride Golf Club is delighted to once again host the Ramsdens Currency Scottish PGA Championship,” said the club’s General Manager, Stuart Fairgrieve.
“It is always a pleasure to welcome The PGA in Scotland and some of the nation’s finest players to our club. We hope everyone enjoys the course and facilities as much as we enjoy hosting this prestigious event."
The Ramsdens Currency Scottish PGA Championship, which will be played from August 25-28, headlines a robust schedule of events as the Arnold Clark Tartan Tour continues to provide numerous playing opportunities for its varied membership.
In its 95th year, the Northern Open, one of Scottish professional golf’s oldest events, heads back to Moray from June 3-4 and will, once again, be part of The PGA’s Open Series.
Popular perennials such as the Deer Park Masters (August 4-5) and the Kerr Investments 36-hole Pro-Am at Dumfries & Galloway (August 15-16) bolster a schedule which also features 36-hole Order of Merit shoot-outs at Spey Valley (May 6-7), Stirling (May 14-15), Bishopbriggs (June 15-16) and Strathmore (July 30-31).
On the young professionals’ front, the season’s showpiece, the Scottish Young Professionals’ Championship, remains at Crieff as the delightful Perthshire parkland course reaffirms its affinity with this cherished tournament.
“We are extremely proud to continue our partnership with The PGA and to host this prestigious event for a fourth year running,” said Anna McLean, the General Manager of Crieff Golf Club, of championship that will be staged from July 6-8.
“It’s a privilege to see the next generation of professionals compete here at Crieff, and it’s a fantastic opportunity to highlight both our course and our commitment to supporting golf at every level.”
Elsewhere on the young pros scene, the Sandy Pipey Young Masters, another popular and keenly contested staple in the diary, will take place at Royal Dornoch from September 20-21.
With a series of one-day Pro-Ams beefing up the schedule, David Longmuir, the manager of The PGA in Scotland, is already looking forward to another year of compelling cut-and-thrust on the domestic stage.
"We are delighted to announce The PGA in Scotland tournament schedule for 2026 at some fantastic venues across the country,” he said.
“We look forward to returning to some familiar courses, with West Kilbride Golf Club hosting the Ramsdens Currency Scottish PGA Championship and Moray Golf Club once again hosting the Northern Open.
“Spey Valley, Stirling, Bishopbriggs, Strathmore, Deer Park and Dumfries & Galloway will also provide a fun and exciting challenge for the 2026 Order of Merit.
“We are also grateful to The PGA in Scotland tournament partners, Arnold Clark, Ramsdens Currency and ProScot Golf Tours, for their continued support in The PGA in Scotland tournament schedule and we look forward to working with them again next year."
