A warm welcome: PGA induction days inspire Year 1 Trainees

Dan Toogood reproduced the consistent form he has delivered in the FootJoy Assistants and Turier Scales-supported Under 30s Sprint Series to win the final event and top the Order of Merit.

To be exact, Toogood finished tied-first with Matt Moseley after the pair posted three-under par rounds of 68 at Cumberwell Park and that ensured he won the Order of Merit by a comfortable margin.

Close on 50 points separated Toogood from Jamie Clare and was the result of a consistent campaign that saw him finish outside the top four just once in five events.

All of which earned the pro from Weston Super Mare Golf Club more than £1,000 and proved the perfect preparation for the busy season that lies ahead.

“I’ve got a full card for EuroPro so I’m planning on playing in those events as well as the regional Order of Merits and national tournaments,” he said.

“Winning this is a great way to start the season and I’d like to say a big thank you to Titleist FootJoy and Nigel Black at Turier Scales. Without these guys events like this wouldn’t happen.”
