A warm welcome: PGA induction days inspire Year 1 Trainees

Total Triumph Motorcycles, a loyal and long-time supporter the PGA in Gloucestershire and Somerset, has agreed to sponsor the counties’ winter schedule of tournaments for the tenth successive year.

The Taunton-based firm will be the title sponsor of both the Order of Merit and prestigious 36-hole Strokeplay Championship which will conclude the winter season at Brickhampton Court next Spring.

The Order of Merit comprises 24 events staged at venues across the two counties and is contested by PGA Professionals and Trainees plus a sprinkling of elite amateurs.

Total Triumph’s sponsorship allows for an attractive bonus pool to be played for and its managing director, Neil Mossman, said: “It’s brilliant to see our local PGA pros and trainees competing across the two counties and for us to be able to help them grow.”

Andrew March, the PGA in Gloucestershire and Somerset chairman, added: “Neil has been a loyal supporter of professional golf for many years, and we are extremely grateful for Total Triumph’s support once again.”

Meanwhile, the opening three events in the new series have been won by four different players.

Defending champion, Filton’s Giuseppe Licata (above) and Jamie Clare tied for victory in the first at Brean Golf Club while Josh Davies and Mark Plummer were the respective winners at Knowle and Mendip Spring.
