A warm welcome: PGA induction days inspire Year 1 Trainees

Alex Mollin has already established herself as a known figure within The PGA.  A Member since 2013 and a PGA Fellow Professional since 2023, Alex, having served on the Committee since 2023, has now been appointed Deputy Chair of the WPGA following a recent meeting.

Based in Jersey, Alex is a self-employed golf coach at AMP Golf Performance Centre, a business she co-founded during the Covid-19 pandemic. Since joining The PGA, she has become a prominent voice in coaching and performance development.

Before launching AMP, Alex worked as a club professional at Royal Jersey Golf Club, having previously started her PGA career at Les Mielles Golf & Country Club.

Alex also played her part in a historic moment in 2013, when she was one of the first three women to win all the main awards at the PGA Graduation Ceremony. Then an assistant professional at Les Mielles, she received the Lord Derby Trophy after finishing top of her second-year cohort, having been named Rookie of the Year the year before.

Alex’s commitment to education and lifelong learning now sees her embarking upon a PhD through Northumbria University, focused upon the coaching of women in golf.  Her research seeks to explore coaches’ practices and players’ experiences.

As the role of the PGA Professional continues to evolve and the importance of developing the women’s game becomes ever more apparent, Alex’s appointment is an important one for the WPGA.

Reflecting on her new position and the role she will play, Alex said:

"It is a privilege to have been elected as Deputy Chair of the WPGA, and I am extremely grateful for this nomination. This is a defining time for women in sport globally, and I look forward to working collaboratively with Chair Sarah Bennett, Secretary Tristan Crew and the WPGA Committee as we drive meaningful support for female members across the Association."
