About the partnership

Giving every man the power to navigate prostate cancer. 1 in 8 men get prostate cancer. Together, we're supporting our dads, brothers, partners and friends by raising awareness of the most common cancer in men, funding life changing research, campaigning for change and providing much needed support.

Men over 50, Black men and men with a family history of prostate cancer are most at risk. That is why The PGA has chosen Prostate Cancer UK as its official charity partner; and we are working with our Membership to support more golfers fundraise for Prostate Cancer UK and to deliver lifesaving conversations within their own networks.

“The PGA is one of many sporting organisations we work with to reach men most at risk. Working with the PGA and its members through fundraising activities like The Big Golf Race PGA Pledge initiative and our award winning risk checker tool are just two of the ways we are working with the golf community to save men’s lives."

Mark Bentley - The PGA Professional aiming to putt prostate cancer in its place. Diagnosed with prostate cancer in February 2022 after visiting his doctor because he knew something wasn’t quite right, Mark had a simple blood test.

Mark’s story highlights early detection is crucial. Don't wait for symptoms to appear. If you’re over 50, Black or man with a family history of prostate cancer ask your doctor about a simple blood test. It could save your life.

“When I was diagnosed with prostate cancer, Prostate Cancer UK became my trusted source for information. Their website was such a valuable resource during such a challenging time. It's great to hear The PGA and my fellow professionals are supporting a cause so close to my heart.”

The PGA Pledge

We’re asking PGA professionals to pledge a multi-round four ball to help golfers take on 36, 72 or 100+ holes in a day for free and support golfers raising money to fund lifesaving research. Together, we can create a future where early diagnosis saves lives.

PGA professionals like Tim Shephard at The Vale golf club are donating multiple tee times to support golfers taking on The Big Golf Race.
