As Club Captain and PGA Professional, you each have the honour of representing your club, and now you have the exceptional opportunity to do so together in the prestigious PGA Pro-Captain Challenge. Since 1993, this exciting event has brought together Captains and PGA Professionals to compete - not just for victory, but to build a lasting bond while showcasing your club on the grand stage.
Teams will progress through Regional Qualifiers to the Challenge Final, competing in a fourball stableford format. There, they will enjoy a five-star experience at PGA National Italy, Argentario Golf & Wellness Resort, one of The PGA’s renowned branded properties. The prize fund on offer at the Challenge Final is £22,000, with £5,000 awaiting the victorious PGA Professional. This is your chance to represent your club with pride, create a unique bond between Captain and PGA Professional and enjoy an unforgettable golf experience. History
The PGA Pro-Captain Challenge has always been a popular event in the PGA calendar and creates great spirit between the club captain and the PGA Professional and has done so since the tournament’s inception. In the 1990’s, the event had close ties with Wentworth Golf Club as finalists would arrive to see the last day of the PGA Championship, before contesting their own final over the same tees and flags. The PGA Pro-Captain Challenge stayed at Wentworth for six years and has since been played in Bahrain, Turkiye, Spain, Morocco and Italy.
