With the first five events in, and four still to play, the 2026 Chrome Tour PGA Open Series Order of Merit is still wide open. Here’s where things stand.
The Chrome Tour PGA Open series is proving to be amongst the most popular events in the PGA tournament schedule, offering Members the chance to compete in a 36-hole format, with a 10% increase in prize money across the series in 2026. With three of the four remaining events already at full capacity, the series is going from strength to strength.
“The response from Members in 2026 has been brilliant and the strength in the fields has been reflected in the scoring. With the Order of Merit race still wide open and of course, a PGA Cup place at stake, the remaining events in the series are going to be just as competitive,” said Phil Davies, PGA Head of Tournaments.
Five events have been played in the 2026 series so far. Congratulations to all of our winners who have earned points towards their Order of Merit standings.
- Open Series (West) at Cotswold Hills: James Cooper (-1)
- Open Seres (South West) at Minchinhampton: Corey Shepphard (-11, won via play-off)
- Open Series (North) The Manchester Open at Mottram Hall: Haydn McCullen (-8)
- Open Series (Midlands) at Peterborough Milton: James Freeman (-6, won via play-off)
- Open Series (Scotland) The Northern Open at Moray: Haydn McCullen (-15)
A reminder of the Order of Merit
With four events still to play, the Order of Merit is still up for grabs, and Members are reminded of exactly how it works.
Your best five scores from the nine events count towards your Order of Merit total – so whether you’ve played once or four times already this season, there’s still plenty to play for. At the end of the season, the Order of Merit will decide who shares the additional £10,000 prize fund.
Haydn McCullen, winner of both the Manchester Open and the Northern Open, currently leads the Order of Merit standings. The third-year Trainee produced one of the performances of the season at the Northern Open, carding an opening-round 59 on his way to victory.
He said: “The Order of Merit is something I keep an eye on. It's nice to be in a good position at this stage of the season, but there's still a lot of golf to be played and things can change quickly.
“The extra prize money is a good incentive, but my focus each week is on putting myself in contention and trying to win tournaments. The standard is high and there are plenty of players capable of putting a run together, so it should make for an interesting second half of the season.”

Representing GB&I at The K Club
The Order of Merit has added significance for 2026. For Full Members, points earned this year are added to those accumulated during the 2025 season to form the PGA Cup standings, with one place in the 2026 PGA Cup team still to be decided.
With two qualifying events remaining before the standings are finalised, the race for the final GB&I spot is entering its decisive stage, with Cuddington in early July providing the last opportunity for players to earn Order of Merit points towards PGA Cup qualification. This makes the closing stages of the series particularly important for those with aspirations of representing GB&I at The K Club in October.

Improvements in 2026
Several enhancements have been made to the Callaway Chrome Tour Open Series in 2026. Water has been available at all tournaments so far this season and will continue to be provided at every remaining event. Tournament Course Planners have proven popular with players following their introduction, with the initial trial extended across further tournaments on the back of positive feedback. This trial will be reviewed at the end of the season, and a decision as to whether course planners will remain permanent will be made. Full course branding has also been introduced to improve the overall look and feel of the tournaments and a concerted effort has been made to address pace of play, and the results are showing – through five tournaments, average round times have improved compared to the same stage of the 2025 season.
