The 2026 PGA tournament schedule will deliver new and improved playing opportunities for Members, with the introduction of the PGA Sprint Series alongside the Chrome Tour PGA Open Series.
With entries already filling quickly across both series’, we encourage all PGA Members interested in playing in open schedule events to act fast and secure places.
PGA Sprint Series
The PGA Sprint Series marks a significant addition to the schedule, with nine 18-hole events carrying a prize fund of £10,000 each, open to all Members in England & Wales.
The Sprint Series begins on May 18th with the Southern Open at Sonning Golf Club, a legacy event providing an exciting start to the schedule.

David Coupland, who finished second in the 2025 Chrome Tour PGA Open Series Order of Merit, described the unique mindsets required across one-day and multiple-day tournaments.
“You've got to be a little bit more aggressive in some ways (in 18-hole events), because it's a bit of a shootout, but I think you're treading a tight rope as such as, you're trying to make birdies - in a two-day event, it's more bogey avoidance.
“I'll try and be more aggressive on the greens, try and hole more putts and try to pinch an extra shot here and there.”

Toby Hunt, who has competed on the DP World Tour and represented Great Britain & Ireland in the PGA Cup, believes the new format will accommodate Members who will face less expense and less time away from work by playing in short format tournaments.
“I think the majority of PGA Professionals are either working in a pro shop or coaching. To be able to take just one day off work and find shop cover for one day, or lose out on one day's coaching is quite appealing to those players.
“For a couple of years, I was a Head Professional at a local golf club and if you're away for three or four days, trying to find the staff willing to work four days running for you, but also the expense that comes with that, with the minimum wage going up every year, it becomes quite expensive to have that cover.
“A one-day series is great for your traditional PGA Professionals who are working in big pro shops, working in golf club management or working as a coach, it just keeps those expenses down and makes it a bit easier to have the time off.”

Chrome Tour PGA Open Series
The Chrome Tour PGA Open Series also includes nine events and will visit six new venues such as Mottram Hall, in Cheshire, which hosts the Manchester Open in May, and Moray Golf Club in Lossiemouth, the site of the Northern Open in June.
The schedule begins on April 28th at Cotswold Hills Golf Club and concludes with the prestigious Leeds Cup in August – the oldest trophy in professional golf still competed for. Prize money has been increased by 10% to £22,000 at each event and more details about the schedule can be found here.
In 2025, Josh Crumplin won the Chrome PGA Open Series Order of Merit, with a highlight being his victory at the Manchester Open at Didsbury. He also came second at the Surrey Open and tied for ninth at the Open Series event at Donnington Grove.
As well as looking forward to defending his Manchester Open crown at his home course, Mottram Hall, Crumplin also has his eyes set on earning starts on the DP World Tour this year, as the winner of the 2026 Chroome Tour Open Series Order of Merit will be eligible to play in the British Masters at the Belfry.
“This is only my second year, last year was my first year. They’re all pretty new to me. The Manchester Open is at my home golf club this year, I won that last year, so that will be good,” Crumplin said.
“The Leeds Cup is pretty prestigious around us as well. It is nice to go and compete up there.
"I just played consistently (in 2025). I played a lot. I played pretty much everything I could enter travel-wise,” he added.
“The starts that have just been announced this year for the winner of the Chrome Series getting in the British Masters.
“I know the winner next year gets into that, so that's a big incentive, to reach the next level."

Coupland won the Open Series’ East Region Championship in June 2025. This was a highlight that Coupland enjoys looking back on, and hopes he can show similar form in 2026 in pursuit of qualifying for the Great Britain and Ireland PGA Cup team, which faces America at the K Club later this year.
“Winning one of the events was great. I was coming from a few shots behind as well. It was one of those where I probably didn't expect to win and then found myself lifting the trophy, which was a nice surprise,” he said.
“The PGA Cup is the main one for me this year,” he added.
“I just like competing - That is highly on my radar. That’ll be great. The Irish crowds are brilliant, I think that’ll create an extra buzz around the tournament.”

Hunt, who played in the Betfred British Masters at the Belfry in 2025 after finishing third in the PGA Playoffs in Cyprus, looked ahead to the season and described the feeling of playing tournaments among his PGA peers.
“I've entered Cotswold Hills in April. I've also entered Minchinhampton at the start of May. I've also entered at Cuddington,” he said.
“Cuddington has been on the schedule for a number of years now.
“Some of the tournaments I go to on the MENA Tour or the Hotel Planner Tour, you spend a whole week on your own, and it can be quite a lonely place. Whereas, when you’re seeing the same faces and you play in two Pro-Ams a week - you see the same guys, you can either stay with them, or you can go for a drink or have some food with them afterwards.
“That’s quite a nice thing. When you’re play playing golf with them as well, it's good to see where you are at in your region.
“I've had quite a bit of success in the region, which I'm very proud of. When you see the Open Series, and the PGA Championships where you get the whole country involved in those events, you really get to test your game against some of the best PGA players in the country.”
