The PGA is pleased to announce the expansion of its long-standing relationship with Staysure and the Staysure Legends Tour, formalising a new four-year Principal Partnership agreement.

Building on the existing relationship that has already enabled PGA Members to compete on the prestigious Staysure Legends Tour, this deal marks a significant step in cementing both organisations’ commitment to delivering competitive playing opportunities.

The leading ten players at the Senior PGA Professional Championship, taking place at Royal Dornoch Golf Club from 13-15 May 2026, will qualify for the Staysure PGA Seniors Championship at Trump International Golf Links in August – hosted once again by past Ryder Cup captain Colin Montgomerie.

While this represents a change from the previous 15 guaranteed places available through the Championship alone, The PGA will be running an 18-hole qualifier at Royal Ascot on 30th June 2026, with a further five places on offer. Open to both PGA and Staysure Legends Tour Members, this new route into the field means the overall number of qualifying opportunities for PGA Members remains at 15.

Entry spots for the qualifier at Royal Ascot will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. For full Terms of Competition, click here.

Since Staysure’s arrival as title sponsor of the Legends Tour, the event has grown to become the flagship tournament of their season and its roll of honour reads as a who’s who of the game – which more recently includes PGA Members Robert Coles and Peter Baker who were crowned champions in 2024 and 2023 respectively.

As part of the agreement, Staysure will introduce an exclusive travel insurance discount for PGA Members, available regardless of age. A specialist travel insurance provider, Staysure offers cover for pre-existing medical conditions and cover for all ages*, supported by more 5-star Trustpilot reviews than any other provider. The offer reflects Staysure’s commitment to supporting the golfing community with practical, relevant benefits for PGA Members who travel regularly for business, and leisure.

Further detail on this offer will be communicated to Members in due course.

Richard Barker PGA, Executive Director – Business Development commented:

“The Staysure PGA Seniors Championship is the oldest senior professional event in Great Britain and The PGA’s involvement runs deep, with the Association lending both its name and trophy to a championship that has been at the heart of senior golf for nearly seven decades.

“Most importantly, this agreement secures competitive playing opportunities for PGA Members at the top level of senior professional golf in Europe. That continued integration of qualification pathways means our Members still have a clear route into one of the flagship events on the Staysure Legends Tour.

“We are pleased to build on a relationship that has already delivered PGA Members as champions in recent years, and this reinforces our shared ambition with Staysure to support and sustain senior professional golf for the long term.”
