Huddersfield Golf Club’s Alex Keighley has become the first female Chair of TGI Golf.
“It’s a very new challenge working even closer with the TGI staff,” she said. “I’ve loved being on the board, but this is the next level and I’m really looking forward to getting into it. I’m hoping to help grow the Partnership even more.
“As Chair it is my role to make sure everything is as it should be. We have a great team in place and they do a superb job in running the group on behalf of the Partners. My role as Chair is to ensure that continues to be the case. I’m there to provide any assistance they may need and to listen to the needs of any Partners who want to share feedback with me.
“My door is always open. If Partners need to talk to me about anything then I’m here to be open and transparent and to listen to any concerns or ideas.”
Keighley turned professional in 2003 and competed on the Ladies European Tour and other tours until 2009, when she chose to focus on her club professional career. Three years later, she became Head Professional at Huddersfield and joined TGI Golf.
After three years, she was invited to join the Board of Directors. She now succeeds Mike Bradley of Notts (Hollinwell) Golf Club as Chair.
Several PGA Members were celebrated at the recent TGI Golf Awards, as partners from across the UK and Ireland gathered to recognise the achievements of members and retail partners.

The ceremony at Fairmont St Andrews saw Conor McKenna of Banbridge Golf Club in County Down named as Irish Partner of the Year, and Chris Robinson of Portpatrick Dunskey Golf Club in Stranraer named as the Scottish Partner of the Year.
John Greenwood of Poulton le Fylde Golf Club in Lancashire secured the North Region Partner of the Year title, while Dan Carter of Weymouth Golf Club in Dorset was recognised as South Region Partner of the Year.
The Associate Partner of the Year award was presented to Craig Dempster and Reece Mitchell on behalf of The Paul Lawrie Golf Centre in Aberdeen.
Peter Hanna was presented with the Ian Johnston Lifetime Achievement Award, following his retirement from the golf industry last year. Hanna was the 80th Captain of The PGA and the presentation was met with a warm applause, reflecting the service he has provided to the industry.
“The TGI Golf Awards are a celebration of everything that makes our partnership so strong,” said Adele McLean, Managing Director of TGI Golf.
“From regional Partner recognition to long-standing contribution and supplier support, the evening highlighted the incredible professionalism, commitment, and collaboration that exists across our network.
“Bringing everyone together at St Andrews to recognise excellence at every level of the business is always a special occasion, and the quality of this year’s winners truly reflects the strength of TGI Golf.”
